Working With Text
The Text tool is used for drawing text boxes and editing text in existing graphics. The toolbar shows the letter 'A' in the same font that will be used for new text boxes, shape labels and line labels.

Clicking in a shape with the Text tool will edit that shape's label. Clicking elsewhere in the document will create a text box that will automatically resize itself to fit whatever text is typed in it. (The shape's width can be changed manually, but its height will automatically be changed to fit the text. Other automatic resizing options can be found in the Shape Info pane.)

Double-clicking on an existing label while in selection mode will also edit that label.

Anywhere you can work with text in an OmniGraffle document, you can use the Font panel, and Format menu to alter its appearance and behavior.

Return ends editing and selects the text box.

Use Option-Return or Command-Return to insert new lines in the text you are typing.

Tab switches to the next editable text.

Shift-Tab switches to the previous editable text.

Use Option-Tab to insert tabs in the text you are typing.
